How to Make Paintball Grenades

Making your own homemade paintball grenades can be an easy, cheap and great way to save more than a couple bucks in your paintball fund.  It doesn't take a lot of materials, and the best thing of all they are entirely reusable, which allows you to say goodbye to one use paintball grenades forever.

Despite the fact that filling a homemade paintball grenade takes most of the time, making a couple of these is still well worth the time and effort.  To speed up the filling process many paintballers build a handy filling machine using an air compressor and an elaborate tower and valve made out of PVC piping.  Since only a few people have the tools and means to create such a device, many chose to take the easier way out and use items like the top of a squirt bottle or a hand pump to fill them up.  The best option is the bicycle pump as it takes in more liquid volume and uses less time and energy to squeeze into the elastic tubing that is the paintball grenade.

The paintball grenade itself is made using rubber tubing, much like the tubing used as the sling on a slingshot.  You can find the elastic tubing at just about any hardware store, including mega hardware stores like Lowes and Home Depot.  The reason why this tubing works the best is it offers just the right tension to expel paint at great distances when presurized.   Further more, when the tubing is pressurized and the paintball grenade discharges it often spins in a circular motion, which maximizes paint exposure.
