Predictions of the Mayan Calendar December 2012

Mayan Calendar December 2012 - What the ancients foresaw centuries back, was it really the end of the world as we know it today or was it just the end of the Long Count Cycle calendar?

The Maya civilization long ago inhabited the southern part of Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, western Honduras, and Belize. This civilization is known for its intricate and accurate calculations of time. The Maya sought advice from priests who in turn looked to the readings of sacred calendars for almost all aspects of life which included agricultural, civil, and religious matters. Time played such a prominent role in their lives that even children were named after the dates they were born on. The concept of zero, which was an advanced concept back then was known to the Mayans and used in their calculations. Zero was represented by a shell.

The sacred calendar of this mysterious civilization was called Tzolkin. Just like our calendar which uses 30 days/12 months, the Tzolkin uses numbers from 1 to 13 with 20 day names in sequence for 260 days. After which, the same number and name sequence will reoccur. Research has found that the 20 day base is the number of toes and fingers and 13 relates to the phases of moon from new moon to full moon. It is also suggested that 260 days can be related to the gestation period of humans of nine months. So far, there have been no inaccuracies found in this calendar.

The main reason why this calendar has come into the spotlight recently is the fact that this calendar predicts that the World would come to an end at the completion of 5,125 years cycle which is, Dec 21st 2012 according to our calendar and this time is the same time when NASA scientists predict Solar Flare and the Great Polar shift of the Earth will occur.

Every 5,125 years is called Long Count Cycle. According to the Mayan's this is when the Gods destroy life and try to create more obedient and subservient creatures. The current Long Count began in 3114 BC and will be ending soon in 2012.

Mayan books talk of different ages that resemble the evolution of the life on this planet. In first age, was the dawn of creation and Earth was inhabited only by vegetation and birds and animals, but unfortunately they do not speak and could not pay their respect to gods and so were destroyed. In second and third ages, the belief is that the gods created humans from mud and wood, but they too failed to pay homage and were destroyed. The Mayan mythology believes that we are currently living in the fourth and final age of fully functional humans, the end of which is predicted to come soon.

Still one question lingers according to the Mayan Calendar December 2012 - What did the ancients really foresee? Did they actually predict the end of the world? Or will life find its way to survive?

Predictions of Mayan Calendar Followers? 2012 is Just Around the Corner

Well have you heard the latest of the newest Doom and Gloomers? This on; the Mayan Calendar, which officially ends in 2012 the last year being 2011. Yah check this out; http://www.ioon.net/mayaonics/EngPages/summary.htm.

Actually either on December 21, 2011 or on October 28, 2011. The studies of the Mayan Calendar are interesting in that many have said the Mayans, Aztecs and event the Incans were visited by alien extraterrestrials. Perhaps, and that their calendar came from them. Cool, free calendars, you know I got one in the mail the other day from a company advertising their wares. Maybe that is how the free calendar advertising idea began? But remember that all possible futures can be controlled by free will. If you want to have fun with some math here is how they get to the number of 2012, you might be surprised what that number coincides with in higher mathematics.

However realize that the Chinese Culture has historic writings in excess of 10,000 years back, which predates these cultures writings. Not saying that either is older than the other since the DNA (please read the "Seven Sister's of Eve) show that the Chinese and the American Indian are related and the African (maybe you have some type B blood in your family?), European and US populations excluding the American Indian are all similar to each other. Two distinctly different groups, everything is different down to the type of earwax your glands produce. Perhaps it was the Neanderthal DNA influences in all of that. Never the less the Indians of the Americas came over from the land bridge across the area we now know as the Bering Straights and formed the population bases here and mixed with whatever was here already if anything which would then include the Mayans, Aztecs and Incas prior to any involvement with the Spanish Armada brigade and Spanish Explorers. Were they visited by aliens? Who knew of a possible future? Who knows, probably possible if one believes of the reverse engineering projects on spacecraft in New Mexico. There has been so much debate in all of this and mathematicians constantly try to reason the dates with our faulty numerical system based on ten.

and I can recommend a book on this subject which I bought and later decided not to read;

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN%3D1...7948249-9099856 .

Now remembering that the Earth Wobbles and therefore has cycles of non-perfect elliptical orbits of the sun and gets hit by meteors, comets and asteroids every 12,000 or so years which just screws up everything including and debated life on Earth (Dinosaurs for instance) it would be hard to say if this was accurate at all. Now if the Earth does pivot on it's axis in 2012 which is entirely possible and actually should have happened already, but did not to any large degree in the 1936-1956, then one might infer that the calendar is absolutely correct? I would differ such an opinion but would not preclude it from possible future realities of the Earths changes, which could incite a global cooling or warming. If such an event takes place there will be extreme problems near the waters edge as the planet moves it's axis.

Extreme weather would be an understatement, volcanic activity, Earthquakes etc, would occur, major activity. So with all this study having been available should one be concerned? Yes, because the cycles although may not come in our lifetime, they surely will come as they have come before. Can we do anything about such possibilities? Yes, we can balance out the planet by moving ice around, changing reservoirs (China is doing this now, not that they have figured it out yet), etc on the surface and in the perfect balance will come a better orbit.

With that better orbit will also come changes we may not want such as changes in trade winds and cycles we count on to grow crops and shift the availability of water resources to areas that are now highly populated. However if we can change the weather and create the weather and the rain and the rain cycles to our needs we can control the actual destiny of our species and be the better for it. And actually everything will work better since their will be less wobble and more control over inertia guidance systems, satellite placement, smart bombs to fly a cruise missile through Saddam's bathroom window, and self flying planes, trucks, trains, boats, submarines, cars and ships.

Anyway it does appear that we nearly have the necessary technologies to serve mankind in fixing these issues before 2012, the question really is will we and is the Mayan Calendar even an issue?

Google Places 2011 - Eight Predictions For the Very Unpredictable Local Search Engine Leader

My Google Alert is going crazy under the keyword I most care about: Google Places. There's been another spotting of possible new design changes being tested or previewed in Podunk Iowa. The pundits are scribbling in their blogs and Twitter. The SEM experts are quaking in their boots. What will this next change do to or for their clients.

Tags, Preview, Instant, Boost, no more 7 pack, integration of regular search and Google Places, new rules, new rules thrown out with old rules back in force. And with each change the algo goes crazy. Companies that had enjoyed great ranking can't be found. Companies who haven't even claimed their listings are number one. One thing for sure, the changes won't stop because we hung up a new calendar. What might Google do in 2011? Here are my top eight predictions for changes in Google Places next year.

Grow Calendar 2011

1. Google Places will not only continue to dominate as the most critical advertising engine on or off the web in 2011, but it will actually grow in influence to the point that Uncle Sam will take a look at whether this is monopolistic or not. The government may already be considering the issue, but in 2011 there will be at minimum rumblings and rumors of intervention.

2. Google knows full well that this could be the case, and will start taking more steps to avoid government action. This year it would seem clear that their decision to show third party reviews (like Yelp, Yahoo, and City Search) above reviews created by Google Account holders would seem to validate their wide open eyes about monopoly complaints. One such step will probably be to change the algorithm to give other local search engines and directories higher visibility under local SMB categories.

3. Google will crack down hard on violations of their Google Places Rules. In particular the key word stuffing of the company name and fake locations.

4. Reviews will dominate the ranking battle on Google Places. As usual it will be impossible or nearly so to determine how Google is scoring this game. But their announcement that they will potentially pick up reviews from any source that properly marks up those reviews will result in a host of review sites hoping to get scraped.

5. There will be more huge changes in Google Places structure, content, layout, and rule book in 2011. I threw this prediction in so that I can be assured of getting one of these right.

6. Coupons will get some type of boost unrelated to Google Boost. Google has great mailing lists and the potential to advertise coupons as widely as they like. Somehow in this new year the coupon element will get some big and free help. But in 2012 it will cost money to put up a coupon.

7. Google will try to do a Groupon knock off or buy one of the lesser players, but as they often do, they will do it horribly. Then they will try to buy Groupon again.

8. The Google Places Page will be completely revamped. The current look is almost unusable and unfriendly, not to mention graphically boring. Google has the capability to solve this with ease. Why they haven't to date is a major mystery.

So there are my top predictions for 2011. Will they do other things that can't even be imagined. Yep. Will they do all these things. For the most part, I hope so.
