Choosing the Right Replacement Canopy Top For Your Gazebo

If you're reading this article, chances are, you purchased a steel gazebo canopy from a "Box Store" like Target, Walmart, Lowes, or Home Depot. Your present dilemma? You need a new canopy for your gazebo. The fact is, the durable steel frames of these box gazebos will many times over outlast the life of the fabric canopy tops that come with them. Within months, sometimes even weeks, the canopies of these gazebos may fade, wear, rip and, tear. All too often, homeowners like you are left to either shop for a replacement canopy, or a brand new gazebo.

Why do the canopy tops fail so often? The fabric canopy tops that come standard with 10'x10' steel gazebos are tailored from very low grade polyester fabric. For safety reasons, the frame must be made from strong steel to prevent it from collapsing. Therefore, you are left with a canopy top that will not last long. Unfortunately, these inferior canopy tops face a vast range of extreme weather conditions, such as snow, ice, rain, UV sun rays, freezing temperatures, and heat. The combination of these weather conditions on a canopy for just weeks can weaken and make brittle the canopy tops on these gazebos. The final straw that breaks the camel's back? Wind! The wind will rip and tear the canopy into shreds.
